Russ Paton lives in the foothills of southwestern Alberta. He shares thoughts and observations, generated in relative isolation, with the expectation that readers will react and critique. It is Russ’ hope that the junction of perspectives generated by Well Water will lead to greater understanding, to the benefit of both the writer and the reader.

Russ shares his rural home with Terri (Bear). Bear provides much-needed grounding – she is Well Water’s Sancho Panza, moderating and refining Russ’ Quixotic tendencies.

Russ’ roots were transplanted to Alberta from the sandy soil of Saskatchewan. As a result, many of the stories shared in Well Water have a slightly alkaline flavour.

Well Water, drawn from deep within the foothills, originates from mountain streams, muskrat ponds and summer rain. Drink deep; taste the clarity, or take a swim.

History, Trivia, Travel, Slow Cars, Small Towns, Aviation, Music, Ranching, Nature, Antiques and Tilting at Windmills all play a part in Well Water.
