My works are like water. The works of the great masters are like wine. But everyone drinks water”

– Mark Twain.

Well Water is a lifestyle blog, designed to entertain, inform, and enrich; to promote a confluence of ideas.

Well Water’s format takes inspiration from The Reader’s Digest, very short stories that can be read in any room of the house, as time permits.  There is no rigid chronological order. Pictures, quotes, quizzes, and music are imbedded, but no advertisements.

Glossary:

  • Grains of Truth – works of fiction, inspired by a grain of truth.
  • History –stories from prehistoric times, to last week.
  • Science and Reason – discussions about the magic of reality and pondering big questions.
  • Tales from Dead Ted’s – the bar in Arcola, Saskatchewan was owned by a guy named Ted Muldoon.  Ted died and now the bar is known as Dead Ted’s.  If you understand the logic in this, you will relate to these (mostly fictional) stories, most of which take place within walking distance of Dead Ted’s Bar.
  • Travel – nothing inspires storytelling more than getting outside the Hobbit Hole.
  • An Altered Reality – Life in a Pandemic.  These are articles written from March 2020 to March 2022, while we were all living in an altered state.  Posts are divided into three sub-categories:
    • Day Zero – Initial shock and Isolation
    • New Normal – Living with a Pandemic
    • 1000 Little Soaps – Adjustment and Aftermath
  • Uncategorized – sometimes a story just doesn’t fit anywhere else.

Things you should know:

Most of Well Water stories are egocentric.  Russ places himself at the core of the story, but the reality is he may or may not have been there at all.

Many of the posts feature Russ’ wife Terri, affectionately referred to as “Bear”.

Names in most of the posts have been changed, to protect the real culprits.

Well Water borrows heavily from the images, words, and lyrics of others.  Most of the material is public domain, but I am happy to remove content if anybody feels robbed.
