Unlike Bob, our stay in Mississippi wasn’t long enough. We stayed an extra night at Belmont Plantation, then toured the Mississippi Delta today.
As we wandered, we stumbled across the town of Arcola. I don’t like to make comparisons when we travel, but I couldn’t help myself today. This is how Arcola Mississippi stacks up with my hometown in Saskatchewan.
Black and White racial demographics are identical in both towns at 90/10. The only difference is contrasting …

What year were both towns incorporated ?

Arcola SK was incorporated in 1889, before Saskatchewan was a province. I couldn’t find an incorporation date for Arcola, MS. The Mississippi delta was uninhabited swamp land until the late 1800s when they built the levee to hold back the river. The two towns are probably close to the same age.
