Millarville, Alberta
If you ever get to a point where you think life holds no surprises, host a wedding.
Aaron (#2 Son) and Emma (#1 Australian DIL) got married at our place on June 30.
We learned a lot.
For example, you can safely sit between a 40’ metal windmill and a metal-clad building, on a metal chair, in a thunderstorm, and live to tell the tale.
Four kids and one dog can discover a full water tank, and not one of them will climb in it.
Adam can vacuum, and dance to the Ghost Busters theme song. Who knew?
Thunder and lightening cannot stop true love.
Tent pegs are 42” long, secondary gas lines are only 36” deep.
(All fixed, no harm done, but damn!)
A barn, a pasture, and a circus tent make an ideal wedding venue. There is lots of space and nobody cares if you spill a drink.
If a wedding cake starts to fall over, you can reinforce it with a wooden dowel pushed through the centre.
The traditional Wells Family pose is ongoing in 2024.
Family and old friends will pick up where they left off.
A Kubota tractor is an essential wedding tool. It can be used for wine delivery, gas line repairs, and as a child entertainment centre.
Canadians, Mexicans, French, and Australians are a fun party mix combination.
The biggest take-away of the day was no surprise. Aaron and Emma are a dynamic couple, their chemistry will last ….
… a lifetime.

Sounds like lots of things were learned during and prior to the wedding! What a beautiful venue (even if it did rain). Congratulations to all!

Thanks Judy! The rain only lasted a few minutes, of a long day
