Bear has a collection of decorative chickens in the dining room at home. They are very nice, but every time Aaron comes for a visit one of the birds is perched on four cork legs.
This has been going on for years, no matter how many times we dismantle it, the chicken returns to standing on four legs.
Aaron comes by this prankish trait honestly; it is in his Scottish blood.
There is a bronze statue of the Duke of Wellington in front of the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow. In the 1980s someone put a traffic cone on the duke’s head. Despite vigilant efforts by city officials, every time the cone is removed, it reappears overnight.
The City of Glasgow (like Bear and I), have given up hope of ever seeing their beloved Duke (in our case chicken), …
… as it was meant to be.
