Blame It on the Nisse

We have a Nisse (pronounced “niece”) living at our house.  Not my brother’s daughter, a mischievous little imp, who comes out at night and hides my stuff.

I had a 9:00am breakfast arranged with a friend today and I wanted to get some chores done beforehand.  When I went to leave, nothing was where it should have been.  I spent 45 minutes searching for items the Nisse had hidden.

My phone was on the cat tree in the bathroom, my glasses were beside the coffeemaker in the pantry, and my wallet was stuffed down the crack of the seat in my truck.  I made it on time for breakfast, but the chores will have to wait.

So, if you and I have an appointment and I am late, it is not my fault. …

… Blame it on the Nisse.
